‘Anarchists’ Plan to Disrupt April 15 US Tea Party Protests

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

Note that StatismWatch has no information as to whether Infoshop is NGO-funded or not. Their website (which has taken down the story referred to here for ‘technical reasons’) in fact asks for donations. The concerns Kurt Nimmo expresses below are, however, well founded. Any large organization of this kind is bound to have been infiltrated to some degree by Federal agents.

Update (2010/04/02): A followup to this article has been posted with additional information including the unmasking of Black Bloc protesters as federal provocateurs during the 1999 Seattle WTO protests.

Black bloc anarchists specialize in providing meaningless property damage for corporate media cameras. Is this the sort of behavior Tea Party activists can expect from anarchist counter-demonstrators on April 15 when the Tea Party movement plans to protest confiscatory taxation?

It is hardly surprising “anarchists” (now synonymous in many instances with government agents provocateurs) are calling for “crashing” Tea Party events. Government ops masquerading as anti-government activists often attack the real folks who oppose the government. Governments have run such false flag operations since time immemorial.

“On April 15th thousands of right-wingers will attend rallies in cities and towns across the United States,” writes the admin of Infoshop News. “The organizers of this nationwide day of protest call it a tea party. This tea party movement that emerged only a year ago is a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites, fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and American flag wavers.”

No, the Tea Party movement came into existence as the Boston Tea Party in December of 2008, not that we should expect a suspicious gaggle of “anarchists” to get the facts straight, especially if the facts do not fit in the narrow confines of their ideology.

“The Libertarian Party of Illinois got the idea to hold an April 15, 2009 anti-tax ‘Boston Tea Party’ in Chicago way back in December of 2008. On February 10, 2009 they started a Facebook page and began promoting the website throughout the Illinois media,” writes Donny Ferguson of the Libertarian National Committee. “Of course, for the Libertarian Party every day is a Tea Party. We’ve been the only consistently pro-taxpayer party since our founding over 30 years ago.”

Apparently the bizarro world of corporate media dominated political propaganda has infected the “anarchists” (at least the Infoshop variety) who now sound like Democrats. Once upon a time, anarchism was a political philosophy that stood in opposition to government.

Alt-Media Predictions Borne Out: FBI Agent Discovered at Center of Alleged Hutaree Conspiracy

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

The truth will out. In this case, it only took two days. (The New York Times has some additional background here on the Stone family, distinctions between militias in Michigan, etc.)

Flashback: Undercover agent helped in probe of Hutaree | Raid on ‘unheard of’ Hutaree militia puzzles small town | 9 Hutaree members face federal charges of conspiracy, attempting to use ‘weapons of mass destruction’ | FBI raids in Washtenaw, Lenawee counties tied to Michigan militia group | DHS Video Portrays Average Americans As Terrorists | US Police to get access to classified military intelligence | US Homeland Security: Terror fight needs public’s vigilance | DoD Training Manual Describes Protest As “Low-Level Terrorism” | UK schoolkids trained to inform on ‘extremist’ classmates by police DVD | ‘AmeriCorps’ Domestic Paramilitary Propaganda Ad | Scouts Train to Fight Terrorists, and More | Secret Homeland Security Threat Assessment Labels Gun Owners Potential Terrorists | UK Home Secretary unveils civilian anti-terrorism security force | US Urban Warfare Drills Linked To Coming Economic Rage | Army ‘Strategic Shock’ Report Says Troops May Be Needed To Quell U.S. Civil Unrest | Pentagon earmarks 20,000 additional troops for American streets | Two More U.S. Military Units Assigned For Homeland Security | US Counterinsurgency Manual Leaked, Calls for False Flag Operations, Suspension of Human Rights | ‘Lone wolf’ terror threat on rise, report warns | US Experts Can’t Agree on Whether ‘Al-Qaeda’ Poses a Threat, Look to ‘Leaderless Jihad’ in America | Fascist America, in 10 easy steps

On Monday we asked you to count the hours before links to the feds emerged on this one – turns out it was 48.

The FBI had an informant inside the Hutaree group and he participated in the alleged conspiracy to kill law enforcement officers, according to The Wall Street Journal today.

In sworn testimony, Thomas William Piatek is described as a Cooperating Witness and an undercover FBI agent.

Thomas William Piatek is pictured at the bottom right. It is interesting to note that, unlike the other suspects, he appears not to be wearing a jail uniform.

“A spokesperson at the FBI’s Detroit office declined to comment on the undercover agent and any role such an agent may have had in the investigation. A spokesman at the Justice Department in Washington also declined to discuss specifics of the investigation,” the Journal reports.

It is not surprising that the FBI had penetrated the Hutaree group and an agent was apparently at the center of the alleged conspiracy. In fact, it is part of a well established pattern.

Recipe for uncovering ‘domestic terror’. Find tiny impressionable group of semi-moronic hillbillies engaging in target practice and wargaming (note: David Stone’s brother, Randall Stone, was on CNN and mentioned his brother had developed a card game involving “two military teams playing against a make-believe world”). Add one or more charismatic federal agents and stir: Suggest various hypothetical training situations and elicit ‘militia’ opinions as to what they might do in said situations while driving to a protest rally, ensuring said militia leader will shoot his mouth off on wiretap. And there you have your domestic terror, prepackaged and ready for the major news media.

Photograph of deadly ‘Hutaree’ compound can now be revealed.

An undercover law enforcement officer infiltrated a Christian militia group to gather evidence that led to FBI raids of the Michigan-based Hutaree group over the weekend.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Waterstreet told U.S. Magistrate Judge Donald Scheer this afternoon that the leader of the group, David B. Stone, 45, of Clayton wanted the undercover agent to prepare bombs to fight law enforcement officers, who the group regarded as enemies of the country.

During the ongoing detention hearing, which began around 1:15 p.m., for eight alleged members of the group, Waterstreet played an audiotape of Stone saying, “Now is the time to strike and take our nation back. … This war will come whether we are ready or not. We will fight alongside anyone that calls the new world order their enemy.”

Stone’s speech was clandestinely recorded on Feb. 6 in a vehicle as members of the group were headed to Kentucky for a meeting with other militia groups, the prosecutor said, adding that Stone’s remarks were part of a speech he planned to deliver at a gathering in Kentucky.

Mumbai Terrorist Headley Was US Agent

After terrorist conspirator and “former” U.S. government agent David Coleman Headley received promises of leniency and extradition protection from American prosecutors for his role in the 2008 Mumbai massacre, speculation about his true masters was set ablaze as outrage erupted across India.

Headley — a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent and the son of a Pakistani diplomat — pled guilty to various criminal charges on March 18 in connection with his terrorist activities in India, Pakistan and Denmark. He is reportedly “cooperating” with investigators.

In exchange, the government vowed not to allow foreign authorities to question him or subject him to trial. Prosecutors also agreed not seek the death penalty, and he may not even serve a life sentence. Links to U.S. intelligence agencies will remain classified. And his guilty plea ensures that there will be no drawn-out trial that could publicly reveal any relationships with various intelligence agencies — most notably, the Central Intelligence Agency-linked Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence.

Headley admitted in the plea bargain that he helped plan the bloody massacre by conducting surveillance and selecting targets, gathering GPS coordinates for the terrorist team’s boat landing along the coast, and more. He was also helping to plan an attack on a Danish cartoonist. And while the Federal Bureau of Investigation was given almost 10 hours to question the only surviving attacker in India, a team of Indian investigators who traveled to the U.S. to interrogate Headley was turned away.

Prime minister agrees to postpone building plans, some concessions made in private, say diplomats

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, last night caved into US demands over the Middle East peace process, opening the way for a resumption of talks with the Palestinians.

It was a humiliating climbdown for Netanyahu after a week of pressure from the Barack Obama administration.

Netanyahu, in a telephone call to the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, who was in Moscow for Middle East talks, agreed to various demands she had set out last Friday.

In a statement from his office, he said he proposed, as Clinton had demanded, “confidence-building steps” that would make it easier for the Palestinians to join the talks. He did not specify what these would be but these could include easing Israeli roadblocks in the West Bank, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from more parts of the West Bank and the release of Palestinian prisoners.

He did not announce, as the US had demanded, a freeze on the construction of Jewish homes in Ramat Shlomo, in East Jerusalem, the key point at issue.

But diplomats in Washington, Moscow and Jerusalem said Netanyahu had given a private promise that there will be a temporary freeze on any new construction. The work, while not cancelled, is to be postponed for several years.

Former smuggler, DEA informant who helped plot Mumbai attacks faces life in prison

Would you sign a plea bargain – in other words, a ‘confession’ – even if it contained distortions, omissions, and half truths, if it saved you from extradition and death? This guy knows which side his bread is buttered on. Headley’s CV practically screams intelligence asset. Given his history in Pakistani military school, his history with the ISI financed and abetted Lashkar-e-Toiba, his revolving door access to the twin worlds of smuggling and the DEA, and his proficiency with intelligence tradecraft, there’s little doubt that India was on the right track when they accused him of being a US double agent. Then there’s the matter of all the unnamed individuals referenced in the plea bargain and summary of charges. Who in the hell is Individual A, based in Chicago, this unnamed shadow to whom Headley reported for orders – see the US DOJ summary of charges here. Accomplice – or handler? (It’s not Rana, who is identified separately.) A matter of ‘national security’, no doubt. Read Headley’s plea here.

David Headley, a Pakistani-American, set to testify against Canadian who allegedly provided his cover story for Mumbai massacre scouting mission

He was the terrorists’ secret weapon: David Coleman Headley, a middle-aged white American who told a Chicago court he laid the groundwork for one of the most spectacular Islamist terrorist attacks in recent memory.

The admissions were made as part of a plea agreement that brought U.S. prosecutors one of the most significant convictions since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, with Mr. Headley agreeing to testify against his Canadian co-accused in exchange for being spared any U.S. death penalty or a future extradition to India.

He still faces up to life in prison. The 49-year-old Pakistani-American admits that he has the blood of more than 160 people on his hands, asserting that, thanks to a cover story provided by his alleged Canadian accomplice, he played a key scouting role that led to the indiscriminate carnage of the 2008 Mumbai massacre.

For three days beginning on Nov. 26 of that year, a team of 10 Pakistani gunmen rained bullets and grenades upon soft targets in India’s largest city, killing civilians, storming a synagogue, and setting luxury hotels ablaze. Their higher-ups, who coached them via telephone, told the gunmen the attack would assure them paradise.

Georgia suffering backlash over media-staged Russian attack

Monday, March 15th, 2010

How do you do war on a budget and keep the psychological screws tightened down on your population? You stage a media event. See how easy this game is? The Other is coming, the Other is coming! Everyone’s just very lucky this one didn’t go live by sparking actual confrontation. Make sure you see the end of the article as well.

A scene from a recent film adaptation of War of the Worlds, an alien invasion yarn that was presented and accepted as fact in 1930s America.

In a media stunt reminiscent of Orson Welles’s 1938 radio bulletin that sent thousands of New Yorkers fleeing from invading Martians, this time around it was Russian forces launching an invasion of Georgian territory, with Georgia’s Imedi television delivering the canned goods to stunned viewers. But Russia may have the last laugh yet, as domestic and international scorn is being heaped upon Tbilisi.

Imedi, Georgia’s third-most popular channel, broadcast the “news” of the Russian invasion on Saturday evening at 8pm, a time when many of the country’s four million people would have been glued to their television sets before bedtime.

The news program opened with a breathless broadcaster cutting right to the chase, announcing that Russian troops were mobilizing on the border for an invasion, while the whereabouts of the president was apparently unknown.

“Good evening, this is a breaking news edition of The Chronicle,” the broadcast began. “In a few minutes, President Saakashvili is expected to make a special statement on the situation in the country. We don’t know if it’s going to be a recorded or a written message.”

So at this point, the dead-serious Imedi news anchor proceeded to drop the following bomb on living rooms across Georgia: “It’s been reported that Russian troops deployed at Lenigore… have been put on combat alert.”

In the media-staged conflict that ensues, the situation quickly deteriorates as President Saakashvili is killed, possibly by a poison-tipped silk tie (it’s fiction, so anything is possible), while opposition leader Nino Burdzhanadze, ex-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, has taken over the Herculean task of ruling the besieged nation.

US-Israel relations: White House ‘will not shy away’ from pushing for talks

Monday, March 15th, 2010

This comes up every time there’s a move towards holding Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. And it’s deliberately provocative. That administration knows perfectly well that Mahmoud Abbas has already said there can be no further talks until there is some kind of moratorium on Israeli expansion. The predictable response? Not, let’s sit down. It’s to mobilize AIPAC.

United States determined to persuade Israel into substantive peace talks with Palestinians, Obama administration source says

President Barack Obama and the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, are on a collision course today in a row described by a senior Israeli diplomat as the worst crisis between the two countries for more than three decades.

An Obama administration source told the Guardian that the White House and US state department are intent on pushing Israel into substantive peace talks with the Palestinians and will not shy away this time as they did when the last effort ended in embarrassing failure in September.

“No one gets anywhere by accusing each other. We are hoping to lay the foundations for negotiations,” the source said. In order to get negotiations under way, the US is demanding that Netanyahu cancel or freeze plans to build 1,600 planned Jewish homes in Palestinian East Jerusalem. But Netanyahu, speaking at a meeting of his own Likud party, showed no signs of backing down. “The building in Jerusalem, and in all other places, will continue in the same way as has been customary over the last 42 years,” he said.

The Israeli ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, in a weekend telephone call to other Israeli diplomats, expressed alarm about the extent of the confrontation.

Undercover policeman reveals how he infiltrated UK’s anti-racism activists

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

With the caveat, of course, that laying the filter of ‘left wing’ and ‘right wing’ over these issues muddles them horribly, this is an excellent account of undercover police operations, their rewards and risks. It’s complicated. And as Officer A points out, the risks involve destabilizing proper and legitimate social movements – the balance of power is disrupted is police infiltrate every organization that comes along. Often, the police end up running the organizations – it’s a matter of public record that CSIS ran the Heritage Front, a Canadian neo-Nazi organization, through its agent Grant Bristow. They even tried taking over the Reform Party, a grassroots conservative movement, in its formative years. Perhaps they were ultimately successful with that, who knows. The info block below contains similar material.

Tony Thompson, The Observer
March 14, 2010

For four years, Officer A lived a secret life among anti-racist activists as they fought brutal battles with the police and the BNP. Here he tells of the terrifying life he led, the psychological burden it placed on him and his growing fears that the work of his unit could threaten legitimate protest

They got drunk together, stood shoulder to shoulder as they fought the police and far-right activists, and became so intimately acquainted with each other’s lives that in the end they were closer than brothers. But it was all a sham. Hidden among the close-knit and highly motivated group of violent far-left activists was a serving police officer, operating deep undercover, whose presence was intended to bring the group to its knees.

That man, known only as Officer A, has now come forward to give his account of the years he spent working for Scotland Yard’s most secret unit, the Special Demonstration Squad (SDS), on a mission to prevent disorder on the streets of London. For four years in the mid-1990s, he lived a double life six days a week, spending just one day a week with his wife and family.

Week after week, year in and year out, he lived and breathed the life of a hardcore Trotskyist agitator with a passion for heavy drinking, a deep-seated hatred of the police and a predilection for extreme violence. It was a persona that took him to the heart of some of the most violent groups in the capital at a time when tensions between extreme left and extreme right were at their peak.

“I never had any respite when I was back at home. I simply couldn’t relax,” said Officer A. “The respite for me was being back in my undercover flat because that was where I was supposed to be. Even if my targets were not there, I felt more at ease. I had a really good time with my targets and enjoyed their company enormously – there was a genuine bond. But I was never under any illusion about what I was there to do. They were not truly my friends. The friendship would last only up until the point when they found out what I really was. I was under no illusion about what would happen to me if they did.”

While Government Treats Citizens As Terrorists, Mexican Military Invades U.S.

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Let’s look at this as a sort of media test case. Apparently, there’s been a low intensity war simmering on the southern border of the US for some time now. The local press covers stories of bombings, incursions, and helicopter flyovers. All of these are at least indicative of a power struggle both within the Mexican military and externally, between drug gangs and the existing Mexican establishment. So the question is – why haasn’t there been any wider coverage of this? And what is the function of the relationship between the local press and the national press? Are glaring exclusions of this sort systemic or deliberate? Does the relationship fall within the parameters of Chomsky’s ‘propaganda model‘ of the media? (A model with both systemic and deliberative elements) Or are we seeing the invisible hand of the state trying to avoid a general panic, mass xenophobia, keep the lid on a political situation, or some other intent? Clearly, the CIA is wrapped up in the drug trade, that’s practically mainstream information. Have their pet gangs gotten out of control, destined to be cast as the next ‘Al-Qaeda’ but on the southern US border? Dying states are dangerous for the same reason dying animals are. This article raises as many questions as it answers about what’s going on in Texas.

Navy chopper with armed troops conducts surveillance in south Texas border town, authorities couldn’t care less

While the U.S. government and federal authorities busy themselves targeting American citizens as domestic terrorists, it seems they couldn’t care less about the fact that the military of a foreign power is flying around American airspace with wanton abandon.

Residents of Falcon Heights, a south Texas border town, saw a Mexican helicopter hovering over a house shortly after 6pm on Tuesday night. The chopper conducted surveillance for about 15 minutes before flying back to Mexico.

“They had armored individuals in the chopper, open ramp, very military looking, in style and preparation,” said Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez Jr.

“It’s proof the Mexican military sees no boundaries,” reported local KRGV News’ Stephanie Stone, adding that the incident wasn’t the first of its kind and wouldn’t be the last.

“The markings I understand read ‘La Marina’ which is equivalent to the Mexican Navy,” said Gonzalez.
