Copenhagen: Global Population Control Program Suggested To Stop Climate Change

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Now, in this insane world we live in, we find the Communists aligned with the National Post. The masks have slipped, and the left-statists and right-statists are exposed as united in their desire for total global control.

Communist Chinese delegates cite concept as key to saving the planet

The Chinese government delegation at the Copenhagen climate change conference has argued that the Communist dictatorship’s one child policy should “serve as a model for integrating population programs into the framework of climate change adaptation.”

Zhao Baige, vice-minister of National Population and Family Planning Commission of China (NPFPC) population program told other delegates at the summit that China “has made a great historic contribution to the well-being of society” by instituting population control.

“Dealing with climate change is not simply an issue of CO2 emission reduction but a comprehensive challenge involving political, economic, social, cultural and ecological issues, and the population concern fits right into the picture,” said Zhao.

The Chinese delegate also cited the UN’s own 2009 State of World Population report, which suggests that if the global population remains at 8 billion by the year 2050 instead of increasing to just over 9 billion, as projected, “it might result in 1 billion to 2 billion fewer tons of carbon emissions”.

Blackwater guards linked to secret CIA raids

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

A groundbreaking article. It neglects to mention, however, that many high ranking former CIA officials were in the employ of Blackwater, as Erik Prince’s Vanity Fair interview reveals.

WASHINGTON – Private security guards from Blackwater Worldwide participated in some of the C.I.A.’s most sensitive activities – clandestine raids with agency officers against people suspected of being insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan and the transporting of detainees, according to former company employees and intelligence officials.

The raids against suspects occurred on an almost nightly basis during the height of the Iraqi insurgency from 2004 to 2006, with Blackwater personnel playing central roles in what company insiders called “snatch and grab” operations, the former employees and current and former intelligence officers said.

Several former Blackwater guards said that their involvement in the operations became so routine that the lines supposedly dividing the Central Intelligence Agency, the military and Blackwater became blurred. Instead of simply providing security for C.I.A. officers, they say, Blackwater personnel at times became partners in missions to capture or kill militants in Iraq and Afghanistan, a practice that raises questions about the use of guns for hire on the battlefield.

Some City of Winnipeg workers are concerned about the use of global positioning systems to keep track of their vehicles.

The city has already installed GPS devices in several of its vehicles, including sanding trucks and street sweepers, and plans to outfit the rest of the fleet. Forestry vehicles are next on the list.

The city says the systems will help improve efficiencies by tracking workers more closely.

“[The city is] looking for a faster response time, and by knowing where the vehicles are they can assign the closest vehicle to a particular call,” said Ed Richardson, a communications systems engineer with the city.

The union that represents the workers approves if the GPS is used for tracking routes and improving efficiency and safety, but there is concern the data could be used as a way to monitor workers’ movements.

“If they’re going to be used for discipline or to micromanage unnecessarily, then of course we would be opposed,” said Mike Davidson, president of CUPE Local 500, which represents city employees.

Renowned American sociopolitical analyst Noam Chomsky says Israel functions as Washington’s main weapons storage base in the Middle East.

“Israel is essentially a US military base, the US positions weapons there, that’s a very close military and intelligence tie,” the Jewish academic told Press TV on Wednesday while explaining the complexity of relations between Washington and Tel Aviv.

Commenting on the weapons that Israel received from the US before launching its 2007-2008 offensive in the Gaza Strip, Chomsky said that the exchange of weapons between the two sides was not surprising.

“[Israel] is receiving weapons constantly. In fact, weapons were sent during the invasion of Gaza. They tried to send them, they were supposed to send them from Greece, and Greece refused to ship them,” he said.

Riot police had to intervene Thursday night to push back protesters at celebrations marking the arrival of the Olympic torch in Old Montreal.

More than 100 protesters gathered in front of the stage, carrying placards, and chanting “No Olympics on stolen native land.”

No arrests were reported, and officers were on hand to make sure the event went smoothly, said Const. André Leclerc of the Montreal police.

Jacques Villeneuve, a former Formula One world champion, carried the Olympic flame along a snow-filled street in Old Montreal before an exchange in front of the brightly lit Notre-Dame Basilica, a Montreal landmark.

The Vancouver Olympics have been the target of protests by native communities and anti-poverty activists, who are critical of what they said are misplaced priorities and the forced evictions of low-income earners.

IMF could fund climate adaptation: Soros

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

This man is an oligarch and a globalist that funds regime change and is on record as being in favour of a global currency and global government. Who elected him to speak at this conference? Right out in the open, the architecture of world government is being set under the pretext that these puppet masters give a damn about the environment. What they actually care about is power and fleecing the public. You know, like the rest of the tyrants that human history has been plagued with. Offering the IMF as a solution is a dead giveaway – the IMF is a corrupt institution that ensures developing nations remain ‘developing’ in perpetuity through debt slavery. See Greg Palast’s interview with the former World Bank head, or see John Perkin’s insider book, Confessions of an Economic Hitman, to see why putting the IMF in charge is the very last thing we should do. Disgusting.

Billionaire investor George Soros says a deadlock in global negotiations over aid to poorer countries adapting to climate change could be broken if resources of the International Monetary Fund were used to help financing.

The American financier-philanthropist, one of a number of international notables visiting the 192-country meeting in Copenhagen, told reporters on Thursday a $10 billion-a-year fund proposed to assist poor nations adapt to climate change is not enough to get the developing world behind a new agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

He suggested redirecting International Monetary Fund resources from providing liquidity to the stressed global financial system to a new mission to finance projects in developing countries that work with clean energy or work toward adapting to the effects of climate change, such as rising sea levels.

A one-time infusion of about $100 billion could be raised in this way, said Soros.

He said such a deal might be necessary to salvage negotiations at the conference, which seeks to deliver a global pact on emissions to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.

“I think it is already becoming apparent in the negotiations that there’s a gap between the developed and developing world on this issue which could actually wreck the conference,” said Soros. [Ed. Note: Yes - because they found out what you were up to.]

Swine flu pandemic ‘less lethal than expected’

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

The figure given is 0.026% fatality for known cases of H1N1. Now, factor in the strong suspicion of UK public health that ‘millions more’ than known have had the flu, and there’s good reason to think that even this figure has been ‘larded’, as Dr. Schabas put it so colourfully.

A study by the chief medical officer has revealed that there have been only 26 fatalities out of every 100,000 people with the illness

The first flu pandemic of the 21st century is less lethal than experts feared, killing only 26 out of every 100,000 people who became ill, a study by the chief medical officer reveals today.

But a third of deaths have been among healthy people who would not have been eligible for vaccination under the present strategy. Sir Liam Donaldson and colleagues say in their paper published online that vaccination may have to be extended to a wider population than at present.

An estimated 540,000 people have gone down with swine flu in England since a pandemic was declared in July and there have been 138 deaths where flu was confirmed as the cause.

In spite of the concern for children and young people, there has been a particularly high fatality rate in the oldest age group, just as there was in previous pandemics. The over-65s are less likely to get flu, the results show, probably because they have been exposed to other H1N1 viruses in the past, but if they get it, they are at greater risk than most of us.

There are low numbers of deaths among the very young (nine in the under-5s, 20 in the under-14s and 17 among 15- to 24-year-olds), which may make it difficult to know how lethal H1N1 is proving to them, says the paper published online by the British Medical Journal.

“The 1918-19 pandemic was characterised by high case fatality rates among young healthy adults. There is no evidence of this from our analysis of the current pandemic,” says the paper. “Our estimate of the case fatality rate compares favourably with those in the three 20th century influenza pandemics. The rate in the 1918-19 H1N1 pandemic was 2%-3%. Rates in the subsequent pandemics (1957-58 and 1967-68) were in the order of 0.2%.” The case fatality rate in the current pandemic is 0.026%.

British Muslim gets life over ‘liquid bomb’ plot

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Another trip to meet shadowy ‘Al-Qaeda’ militants in Pakistan, another patsy takes the fall (eventually, that is – they had to dismiss the first jury for failing to find a conviction). This time, it’s for a crime that was impossible to commit. You can’t cook up a bomb in an airport washroom, but the recipt to cook up a ‘terror plot’ is an old one. None of these supposed terrorists even had plane tickets or passports. For their part, they said they wanted to set off some sort of a non-fatal bang, a political stunt to promote a propaganda video. So this is a complete farce. And it’s come to light that the ISI has a hand in training up these misled, manipulated, angry young kids that want to fight for the Ummah, and MI5 had also been trailing this group around for a year, so it’s pretty clear what was going on here. And so now we’re all reminded of the dire threat of terror every time we have to throw away their toothpaste and bottled water at the airport. Thanks, MI5!

A British Muslim has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of conspiring to murder civilians in a “deadly terrorist attack”.

Adam Khatib, 23, a factory worker from Walthamstow, east London, was part of a terror cell run from Pakistan.

The cell was led by Abdullah Ahmed Ali, convicted of plotting to blow up transatlantic passenger airliners.

Mr Justice Calvert-Smith told Woolwich Crown Court “cold-hearted” Khatib would spend at least 18 years in jail.

The judge described him as “Ali’s lieutenant” and said: “The gravity of your offence is extreme. You are clearly a character capable of being charming.

‘Limbs blown away’

“However, you are immature, attention-seeking and cold-hearted.”

Khatib had conducted research into the chemicals to be used in the detonator of the bombs and his fingerprints were also found in a flat the men were using as a bomb factory.

He had travelled with Ali to Pakistan where it is believed they met militants linked to al-Qaeda.

The report said the police were ill-equipped and lacked co-ordination, but it praised them for their courage.

The BBC is in possession of an advance copy of the Ram Pradhan Committee report which is yet to be made public.

At least 174 people, including 14 policemen, died when 10 gunmen attacked the city on 26 November 2008.

Police caught one of the gunmen alive and he is currently on trial. Nine other attackers were killed.

Blackwater’s Erik Prince: Tycoon, Contractor, Soldier, Spy

Erik Prince has more than an ‘image problem’. Jeremy Scahill, one of the foremost experts and critics of Blackwater/Xe, always has some choice words about Prince over at his blog, Rebel Reports.

Adam Ciralsky, Vanity Fair
December 10, 2009

Erik Prince, recently outed as a participant in a C.I.A. assassination program, has gained notoriety as head of the military-contracting juggernaut Blackwater, a company dogged by a grand-jury investigation, bribery accusations, and the voluntary-manslaughter trial of five ex-employees, set for next month. Lashing back at his critics, the wealthy former navy seal takes the author inside his operation in the U.S. and Afghanistan, revealing the role he’s been playing in America’s war on terror.

I put myself and my company at the C.I.A.’s disposal for some very risky missions,” says Erik Prince as he surveys his heavily fortified, 7,000-acre compound in rural Moyock, North Carolina. “But when it became politically expedient to do so, someone threw me under the bus.” Prince–the founder of Blackwater, the world’s most notorious private military contractor–is royally steamed. He wants to vent. And he wants you to hear him vent.

Erik Prince has an image problem–the kind that’s impervious to a Madison Avenue makeover. The 40-year-old heir to a Michigan auto-parts fortune, and a former navy seal, he has had the distinction of being vilified recently both in life and in art. In Washington, Prince has become a scapegoat for some of the Bush administration’s misadventures in Iraq–though Blackwater’s own deeds have also come in for withering criticism. Congressmen and lawyers, human-rights groups and pundits, have described Prince as a war profiteer, one who has assembled a rogue fighting force capable of toppling governments. His employees have been repeatedly accused of using excessive, even deadly force in Iraq; many Iraqis, in fact, have died during encounters with Blackwater. And in November, as a North Carolina grand jury was considering a raft of charges against the company, as a half-dozen civil suits were brewing in Virginia, and as five former Blackwater staffers were preparing for trial for their roles in the deaths of 17 Iraqis, The New York Times reported in a page-one story that Prince’s firm, in the aftermath of the tragedy, had sought to bribe Iraqi officials for their compliance, charges which Prince calls “lies … undocumented, unsubstantiated [and] anonymous.” (So infamous is the Blackwater brand that even the Taliban have floated far-fetched conspiracy theories, accusing the company of engaging in suicide bombings in Pakistan.) [Ed. Note: Perhaps Vanity Fair should look at the evidence of same before printing apologias about a man that heads up one of the most murderous mercenary armies in the world.]
