Fiat aims to be global powerhouse by acquiring Chrysler, Opel

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Fiat has a long association with the Bilderberg group and its founder’s relationship with David Rockefeller, Chase Manhattan Bank, and other leading globalists are well documented if not known. (Chase Manhattan was later merged with JP Morgan bank.) Now Chrysler and GM are headed to the chop shop and Fiat rides to the rescue. Membership, as they say, has it’s advantages.

ROME (AP) – Fiat Group SpA will be on the path to becoming a global automotive powerhouse if Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne has his way.

Marchionne is set to meet Monday in Berlin with German economic and foreign ministers to discuss Fiat’s offer for General Motors Europe’s German unit, Opel.

Fiat confirmed Sunday that it is in talks to buy most of General Motors Corp.’s European operations. It also said it is evaluating the possible spinoff of its auto business to form the core of a new company.

Three men in British Columbia are demanding an investigation into what they claim was a nightmarish case of mistaken identity after they were allegedly beaten by RCMP officers and bitten by a police dog in a raid last year.

A senior RCMP officer in the province has apologized for a Nov. 7, 2008, raid on a Surrey apartment building, in which members of the force’s emergency response team smashed in a number of doors, including that of Iranian refugee Emad Hovaizavi.

On Monday, the three men will ask the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP, an independent agency created by Parliament, to examine what happened.

In signed statements, Hovaizavi and two friends with him at the time, Seyedmorteza Ghadiriasli and Mohammed Bosir, said police smashed his front door open and demanded the residents of apartment 206 to come out.

But they were in apartment 205 and told the officers that.

WHO to declare full flu pandemic

Monday, May 4th, 2009

It’s mentioned below, peripherally, that some experts think the thing is no different from a regular flu, and that 25 people have died in total. So – how did this panic start, and why is the WHO still feeding it? And what are the outcomes – a vaccine in the works by a notoriously slipshod drug maker and moves to topple the Mexican constitution?

MEXICO CITY — Mexico said it was winning the battle against a deadly new strain of flu as it stayed largely shut for business and cases dropped, but global health officials hinted a pandemic was still likely.

World Health Organization chief Margaret Chan, paving the way for a rise in the agency’s flu alert to the top of a six-point scale, warned against complacency over the good news from Mexico where the new H1N1 strain was first seen.

“Flu viruses are very unpredictable, very deceptive… We should not be over-confident. One must not give H1N1 the opportunity to mix with other viruses,” she said.

Afghan President Karzai registers for re-election, picks warlord as running mate

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Interesting choice… this warlord, with his ‘mujahideen’ army – that’s what we call Al-Qaeda when they’re working for us – marched on Kabul with Tommy Franks, then was elevated to Minister of Defence for Afghanistan. Those mujahideen keep on popping up don’t they?

KABUL — President Hamid Karzai registered as a candidate for Afghanistan’s August presidential election on Monday and named current vice president Karim Khalili and former vice president Mohammad Qasim Fahim as his two running mates.

Wearing his trademark green and purple cloak, Karzai said he wanted to run again “to be at the service of the Afghan people,” though he acknowledged there have been “some mistakes” during his five-year term as president.

Karzai’s popularity has waned somewhat in recent years, as civilian casualties caused by international military forces have increased and charges of government corruption persist. But so far no candidates who could challenge Karzai’s hold on power have registered for the Aug. 20 election.

An innocent man was strip-searched and held in a cell for 24 hours after receiving a joke text message from a friend about sabotaging a train.

The 29-year-old was arrested after his mobile phone provider passed on details of the message to police – who accused him of not reporting a crime.

The case, which happened in France, provoked widespread outrage about the ’sinister’ march of the Big Brother state there.

The man, referred to only by his first name of Stephane, received a message saying ‘Do you know how to de-rail a train?‘ last month in Abbeville, in the Somme region.
